Victoria Beach

June 30, 2016

It’s Canada Day long weekend, and while I’m personally stuck in the city this time around, I’m day dreaming of sitting on a beach with a picnic basket full of treats! So I’m throwing it back to a fun day last summer when my sister, friend Monique, and I ventured out to Victoria Beach for a get away that was oh so perfect!victoria beachvictoria beach

I am obsessed with picnicking…it’s all my favourite things combined; snacking, friends, lounging, nature…ugh my mouth is watering for one of those little dream cookies from Einfields Bakery: imagine two shortbread cookies sandwiched with a dollop of raspberry jam and coated with royal icing. This was my first time visiting Victoria Beach, and what a little sanctuary! Tucked away from the highway and cars is this small beach village (no vehicles allowed, which is part of the charm) complete with it’s own bakery, diner, library, and sporting facilities. There was something so rustically homey and untouched by modern convenience that I just loved. It was simple and beautiful. We watched the sunset on the lake that night as everyone gathered around beach bonfires to celebrate the summer. What a beautiful spot indeed!
