Situated alongside the beautiful Red River in the historic Exchange District, downtown Winnipeg, is something bold, beautiful, and bright! Mere Boutique Hotel stands out amidst its historic and natural surroundings with its vibrant colors and striking architecture. I’m a huge fan of minimalism, and fresh, innovative spaces are definitely not underrated in my books. Less is by far more! Take a peak inside the finessed details of the contemporary Mere Boutique Hotel!
Mere Boutique Hotel is by far the most beautiful and unique hotel Winnipeg has to offer. Its innovative design elements reflect its high appreciation for the pure and simple. The “less is more” philosophy creates a lot of value displayed in the detailed use of space, natural lighting, and quality of amenities. The sum of its well thought out parts make for a truly calming and peaceful experience!
Each room, sleek and bright in layout, offers elegant features like your very own Nespresso machine accompanied by modern glassware. Step inside the convertible bathroom to experience the beautiful rain shower and wrap yourself up in one of their signature plush robes. Of course, all other amenities like lockbox, iron, mini fridge (stocked up with beer, wine, juices and a few snacks – the snacks of which are on the house!) are conveniently tucked away as to not hinder the flow and spaciousness of the rooms. This is the Mere Boutique experience-in it’s humble simplicity, rooted in fine design. Did I mention is was quiet? Like ahhhh….so relaxing quiet. A HUGE advantage to staying at a boutique hotel is the privacy. If you didn’t already know, I’m a huge introvert so this was a mega plus for me!
Need more than a snack? Step next door into Cibo, a lovely Mediterranean restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try the Pickerel Fritto! Fried local pickerel with potato and fennel-pickled cauliflower, topped with garlic aioli, smokey bravas sauce, & chives- it’s a MUST people! The ambience is a mix of urban and historic as the building used to be a historic Pump House. If you’re a foodie, you’re surrounded by fantastic restaurants. You don’t need to walk far to try some of the best restaurants in the city, the majority of which are located in the Exchange District! Other faves of mine include The Mitchell Block, Deer and Almond, Peasant Cookery, Carbone, Miss Browns (lunch), Hermanos, King & Bannatyne (lunch), Bronuts (coffee and donuts) and Parlour (coffee).
Mere Boutique Hotel is centrally located and close (within walking distance) to all the major tourist attractions: The Forks, The Canadian Museum of Human Rights, St.Boniface, Fort Gibralter, Via Rail, the Exchange District, China Town, the MTS Centre, and Osborne Village.
Coming from living in Toronto with a love for the convenience of urban living, I felt completely at home at Mere Boutique Hotel. All my senses were at ease, and sincerely pleased! My deep appreciation for visual aesthetics and my love for innovative design and functionality delighted in all the beautiful features that make Mere Boutique Hotel so unique. Special thanks to the hospitality/service team for treating me so kindly!
