Apart from its prime location in the cultural heart of Winnipeg, the Inn at the Forks sets itself apart from the rest with its incredible guest service, beautiful facilities, and convenient luxuries. My kinda luxury? The best food, a full service spa and relaxation facilities, and comfortable spacious rooms with views over the beautiful Forks. The perfect spot for a staycation as everything you could dream of is at your fingertips! Riverstone Spa and Smith Restaurant are both located inside the hotel and offer top notch spa services and delicious dining experiences! It’s really a perfect trio. And the truth was, as much as I like to adventure, I never really wanted to leave the hotel – which for those cold Winnipeg winters, is a clever convenience. Plush robes, slippers, jacuzzi, room service, wine… I wasn’t going no where!
Our executive suite was truly a dream! It featured an office work space and bar, separated by a master bathroom complete with rain shower and jacuzzi, which continued off to a more private bedroom area all with views looking onto the Red River and The Forks! Little details like slippers, chocolates, bottles of wine, and Riverstone bath and body products added that special touch of luxury and comfort!
Quietly tucked away in the corner of the hotel is the peaceful Riverstone Spa. With treatments from full body massages to facials, their customized list of services come with opportunity to relax and enjoy the whole spa amenities! So my advice would be to make a day of it! The change rooms are equipped with steam room, dry sauna, and full body rain showers, so as I said, day at the spa experience-a must!
Before your service begins you’re invited to rest and find peace in the silent lounge. Admire the fire light, the glowing candles, and the trickle of the waterfall. All small soothing details designed to calm the spirit. A refreshment bar offers light and healthy snacks as well as teas. I LOVE snack bars. I wasn’t sure what I was in for next, but what I was about to experience was more than just a massage, it was a spiritually uplifting. I highly recommend the Indigenous Hot Stone Massage as a healing and relaxing treatment for the mind, body, and soul. It was a really sensual treatment incorporating traditional indigenous cleansing herbs and essential oils. I love heat, so the hot stones felt really therapeutic as they warmed up my muscles and helped distribute weighted energy on my chakra points throughout my body . After the massage a sage and cedar tea is offered as a final detox. It was really lovely and special to be offered a treatment that had indigenous components as part of the healing and cleansing treatment. I felt very humbled by this experience, and enjoyed how unique it was. I was feeling relieved, lightened, cleansed, at peace, and full of gratitude.
What To Do
After you’ve booked your treatment at the spa, and made dinner reservations at Smith, you are ready to go out and explore! If you’re visiting the city for the first time, you’re in the prime spot for all the major “tourist” attractions. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is located on the same grounds. The Forks, St. Boniface, and Fort Gibraltar are also right beside the hotel. Take a walk across main street and you’re downtown access to shopping, Shark Club, MTS Centre, the Exchange District, Osborne Village, and the nightlife and restaurant scene are all within a few blocks! The Inn at the Forks also has a few bikes available for guests to explore the city at your pace!
Thanks to Inn at the Forks, Smith, and Riverstone Spa for providing a world class experience and excellent customer service! I was always greeted with a smile and offered the best of the best from the food menu, to the spa services, to the room amenities and service!
